Delete Your Account
Last updated: August 2, 2026
You can delete your Wandr account and its data at any time. There are two ways to do it — from inside the app, or by emailing us.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (immediate)
- Open the Wandr app and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account — it is marked "Permanently removes all your data".
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account is deleted straight away. You will be signed out, and signing in again with the same Google account creates a brand-new, empty account.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed, send an email to wandrramesh@gmail.com from the Google account email address you use to sign in to Wandr, with the subject "Wandr account deletion request".
We verify that the request came from the account owner's email address, then delete the account. Requests are actioned within 30 days, and normally much sooner.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed from our servers:
- Your profile — name, email address, profile picture and Google sign-in link;
- Your trips and itineraries, including days, stops, stays, transport legs and food stops;
- Trips and trip groups that you own, together with their checklists, votes and expense records;
- Your solo journal text;
- Your subscription and purchase records, and your exported itinerary records;
- Your saved preferences, plan limits, ad-reward balances and push-notification token.
What is not deleted, and why
- Contributions to group trips owned by someone else. Chat messages, shared journal notes and expense entries you added to another person's trip remain in that trip, but they are detached from your account and are no longer attributed to you by name. This is so the remaining members keep a coherent record of a trip they planned together — for example, so a settled expense does not silently vanish from the group's balances. If you want these removed as well, say so in your email and we will delete them.
- Journal photos on your phone. Photos you attached to a trip journal were only ever stored on your own device and never uploaded to us, so there is nothing for us to delete. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them.
- Anonymous, non-identifying records. Aggregate usage counters and crash diagnostics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained.
- Records we are legally required to keep. Where tax or accounting law requires us to retain a transaction record, we keep the minimum required for the required period and nothing more.
Residual copies may persist in encrypted server backups for a short period after deletion. These are overwritten on the normal backup rotation and are not used for any other purpose.
Before you go
If something in the app went wrong, we would genuinely rather fix it than lose you. Email wandrramesh@gmail.com and we will take a look.
